Just a short drive north of downtown Orlando, you will find the charming areas of Lake Ivanhoe Park and "Antiques Row". Located on N Orange Avenue near Princeton St., the street is an eclectic collection of stores and restaurants that offer visitors a terrific afternoon of treasure hunting and bargain shopping. The shops in that area offer items that range from rare to ridiculous. Recent visits have shown bargains like navy wing back chairs for $199 and a funky purple velvet lounge sofa for $399. A wide selection of clothes, furniture, and chachkis from every era means there is something for everyone here.

Do not forget to stop into the White Wolf Cafe for lunch or an afternoon snack. The atmosphere is a combination of Bohemian cozy and antique nostalgia. On the lighter side, you can not go wrong with the Zesty cool shrimp and avocado salad. If comfort food is what you crave, the Mac and two cheeses with crab meat is like a big hug from Mom. If a day outside the theme parks is on you agenda today, a visit to Antiques Row will definitely be an afternoon well spent.
